"The Barns of Rose Hill Celebrates - June 2008 Auction Gala" June 2008, From the Barns of Rose Hill:
Despite the uncooperative weather, over 130 friends,
volunteers, and supporters enjoyed a lovely evening of fine food, drink and
treasure-hunting under the
tent on the lawn of Milton Valley Farm on June 14. The extraordinary
generosity and talent of our many supporters created a lovely, successful
evening.
All of the items presented for auction were donations; the majority of the
artwork was created by individual artists especially for the Gala; wonderful
and unique
offerings were donated by friends of the Barns and local businesses; and
travel and entertainment opportunities were given by hotels, theatres, and
museums. We’re another step closer to our “Barn Raising” because of you.
Our AUCTION COMMITTEE: Susi Bailey, Wendy Clatterbuck, Janet
Eltinge, and Diana Kincannon.AND THE MANY OTHER CONTRIBUTORS AND SUPPORTERS WHO ENSURED
OUR SUCCESS.
We are deeply grateful to each one of you. |

Sponsored by The Barns of Rose Hill and Blue Ridge Hospice, the event represents a collaborative effort between the two local organizations. Members of The Barns are working to restore several old structures to revitalized space as a community-based center for the arts in Berryville's downtown area. Now celebrating its 25th year, Blue Ridge Hospice serves the City of Winchester, Frederick, Clarke, Page, Shenandoah, Warren and western Loudoun counties by making quality end-of-life care available, as well as offering support to those affected by grief and loss.
To help explain end-of-life decisions to patients and families, the speaker put his experiences to print, publishing several books on the subject. Hank Dunn's Hard Choices for Loving People has more than two million copies in print and is being used nationwide in hospitals, hospice communities, and nursing homes. Dunn's second booklet, Light in the Shadows: Meditations while Living with a Life-Threatening Illness, is now in its second edition.
The workshop begins at 8:30
a.m. with registration and breakfast and
concludes at noon. CEUs are being
provided for healthcare professionals,
as well as a certificate of attendance.
Registration fee is $35, which includes
the breakfast, workshop materials, and
