About: The Hot Seats play what they call stringband music—a deliberately broad label that sidesteps the need to pin things down as old-time, bluegrass, ragtime, country, or something more chaotic. Based primarily out of Richmond, Virginia, they have been performing together since 2002, taking their sound across the United States as well as to the UK, Ireland, and parts of Europe. Along the way, they’ve appeared at a wide array of festivals, including Tønder, Celtic Connections, South by Southwest, FloydFest, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where they received a Herald Angel Award in 2006.

Known for their high-energy performances and irreverent sense of humor, The Hot Seats blend virtuosic musicianship with a playful stage presence that has earned them a devoted following. At the heart of the group is a genuine camaraderie and appreciation for the audiences who join them along the way. The band includes Josh Bearman (mandolin, banjo, guitar), Jake Sellers (percussion, bass), Rudy Bzdyk (fiddle, tuba, accordion, piano), JM Nobile (mandolin, guitar), and Charles Arthur (banjo, fiddle, resophonic guitar), along with a rotating cast of additional collaborators.

Ticket Price: All tickets are general admission: $25 in advance until 3:00 PM on the day of the event or $30 at the door. Children 12 years and below are free when accompanied by an adult.
