About: The Big Band Bash featuring the DMV All-Star Big Band is a high-energy celebration honoring the trumpet legends of past, present, and future. Led by bandleader Tyler Makowiecki, the DMV All-Star Big Band is an 18-piece powerhouse ensemble made up of elite musicians from across the DMV music scene.

The program draws from the fiery, virtuosic catalogs of trumpet greats such as Wayne Bergeron, Maynard Ferguson, Conrad Gozzo, and Arturo Sandoval, among many others—delivering soaring high notes, blazing solos, and electrifying big band energy.

This event promises an unforgettable evening of bold brass and big band brilliance.

Tyler Makowiecki is a versatile freelance trumpeter based in the DMV area, specializing in lead and jazz trumpet performance.  He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz and Commercial Music from Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia.  You can find Tyler gigging around the DMV all of the time, from venues as large as the Kennedy Center and Rams Head on Stage to any small jazz club.  He has performed with jazz legends such as David Benoit, Matt Niess and the Capitol Bones, Bijon Watson, as well as top-call military musicians in the DMV area.  In addition to jazz performance, Makowiecki is an experienced pit orchestra musician, having played lead and section trumpet for productions such as Legally Blonde, The Wizard of Oz, Spam-A-Lot, Fiddler on the Roof, Catch Me If You Can, On The Town, and Frozen.

Ticket Price: All tickets are $10 general admission. Children 12 years and below are free when accompanied by an adult.
